I cried and cried, buckets really!! Tears of absolute joy!!!
I'm back ... with now 7 children, and I couldn't be happier!! It was one of the most joyous times in my life, sans the births of my children. To be privy to this beautiful union of my daughter to this amazingly handsome young man, who by the way adores her... well, it's what every mother dreams and hopes will come true for their child!!
It was the most beautiful wedding ceremony, visit to the amazing park for pictures and we rocked the reception!!
The food was absolutely out of this world!! We started off with an antipasti buffet and almost every type of seafood known to mankind!! The absolute favorite was the tripe, hello... Greeks here!! ;-)
The first course was Penne w/ Vodka sauce. Second course was the tastiest pork & cheese stuffed cannelloni in a creamy marinara sauce that I've ever had!! Third course was filet mignon lightly drizzled with a sherry & peppercorn sauce, the filet was so tender, it literally could be cut with a butter knife!! Also on the plate was, *yes, I know*, the moistest chicken breast in a light garlic & sherry sauce. They were accompanied by roasted potatoes and an array of lightly steamed vegetables with a slice of lemon. The rolls!!! OMG!!! I should of stuffed some in my purse "don't ya know", but alas, I played mom of the bride and brought a small fancy number with me, darn it all!! ;-) We were all so full it wasn't even funny, but alas there was more!!!
Fourth was the salad, but of course. It being a "Greek wedding", it was chock full of feta cheese & olives - - YES!!
Later when the cake was cut, they brought out the dessert table. I honestly believe it was over 40ft long, I am not joking! There was every imaginable sweet and delicacy on there. From Greek desserts including tortes, outstanding cheesecakes, silky smooth and light as a cloud souffles, more cookies than "cookie monster" can eat ... to the freshest of fruit. Darn that small purse of mine!! ;-)
These pictures were some that were snapped and not the professional ones, but I couldn't wait to share with you!!
The banquet hall was so beautiful, and had multiple colored lights that changed the hue in the room gradually... it was so soft and romantic!!
Thank you all so very much for the well wishes, it meant more to me than you can imagine!!
On to the pictures yes?
At the hotel before the church.
The joining of the crowns. Both crowns are connected, representing the two becoming one... I was balling at this point!!
The wedding ceremony dance with the "koumbaro" (best man) and his beautiful bride "koumbara".
Tom and Irene, "panta axie", you guys did a wonderful job and made my daughter and son-in-law proud!!
Their first kiss as husband and wife!!
At the park, isn't it gorgeous?? Such beautiful monuments and pillars!!
Look at the flower girl!! She was the prettiest and most well behaved little girl, and that smile!!! Hello Katerina, honey you are a doll!!!
Right after dinner... look at the banquet hall!!
The festivities have begun!!! Let's dance, OPA!!
My gorgeous daughter belly dancing!! My very handsome son-in-law cheering her on!! I truly believe he wanted to snatch her away at this point!! ;-)
I cried, I laughed, I cheered and I danced the night away... it was truly a celebration my friends, a celebration of love!!
Till next time!!
